Until summertime comes, I'm kinda swamped (mm, college, yay!). Until then, I will be happy to make a Jayne hat for someone if everyone else is engaged, but I'd rather be towards the bottom of people's "will you make me a Jayne hat?" list until at least late April or early May. Thanks!
also, as a group question about selling/making hats: should there be a general price range we should agree on, so as not to be in massive competition with each other (and therefore have someone potentially feel ripped off if the person they end up getting is one of the more expensive ones), or just, "price of yarn, plus $x/hr", or, is it really just up to the makers/sellers to quote a price and then for the buyer to choose yay or nay, buyer beware?
Aimee C., glittermakesmehappy at comcast dot net. Located in the Philadelphia area, but can ship to anywhere.
I make my Jayne hats out of acrylic/wool blend (machine washable!), and can use wool if requested. My sample is located here: Yay for Cunning Hats. (final will come with pom-pom)
It seems like it's been a while since anyone has commented here, but I'll give it a try.
I can't knit to save my soul, but I have three beloved geeks who each want a Jayne hat. One is an adult man with a fairly large skull (and thick hair), the second is an adult man with a medium-sized skull and short-cropped hair (although I would think that erring on the side of too large a hat would be a good idea), and the third is a 15-year-old boy with a fairly large skull. I'm thinking that cotton yarn would be a better idea than wool, as the two adult men live in Florida and the geek-in-training lives in a fairly warm part of North Carolina.
If anyone is willing to knit these hats, please email me at azdesertrose at gmail dot com and we can discuss exact measurements (I can measure the Floridians myself, and I think I can get someone to measure the North Carolinian), cost, and other details. I would prefer to pay via Paypal.
Thank you very much. DesertRose (I'm a Browncoat too but I don't wear hats because I have WAY too much hair :D)
The first adult JayneHat I made was for a Big Bald Floridian Coconut. Made it out of Lamb's Pride Bulky and there's been nary a complaint about the wool being too warm. :>

I'd just ask that people not get all whimsical in the brainpan and give out their full mailing address.
For their protection, mostly. :>

Right now (and for the foreseeable future, since I have no spare time) they go to exactly the same place.
I'm in the Southeastern US, but I ship worldwide.
